But these soldiers can see the desperation in your eyes. They have pity on you and let you in. In camp, though closer to battler, you hope you will have protection for your children against the destruction caused by the British troops. You will also have access to work and possibly small pay while here, so you can get on your feet when the war is over and make sure your children have a good chance at life.
